Shane Rose rode four horses in the CCI4*-S during the Easter weekend at Equestriad but it was his experienced campaigner and Tokyo 2020 silver medal winning horse, Virgil, that claimed the win on Sunday

Virgil is now heading to the Adelaide Equestrian Festival for the CCI5* and, as he has only had one start so far this year, he ‘needed to have a little tighten of the belly’ says Shane. They produced a fast but comfortable clear round on cross country to take the win on a score of 31.40 ahead of Cathryn Herbert riding Wimborne Constable (37.40) and Sam Lyle riding BF Valour (39.50)

Jess Somerfield is also heading to Adelaide with a win under her belt in the CCI3*-S on board HB Zara and Olivia Barton topped the CCI2* on one of the up and coming horses bred by Prue and Craig Barrett, Sandhills Gem.

In the National classes, Sam Cesnik made the trip from Victoria worthwhile with a win on another talented young horse, Giovanni Giorgio

Christine Bates riding Statford Matilda won the EvA80A, Georgina Wellard riding Mr Darcy headed the EvA80B, Holly Coulthard riding Billcurra Chaos took the EvA80C and Fairlie Pulbrook riding Wilhelmina won the EvA80 Junior

In the EvA60, there were no moves on the leaderboard after show jumping with Sarah Thomson riding ThomasTheTank winning the Section A, Emma Bishop riding CP Howzat taking Section B and Angelina Thompson riding Silverthorn Goodwill on top of the Junior section

Competitors in the EvA95 completed dressage and show jumping today with Felicity Cribb riding Feldale Short Black winning the Section A, Niki Rose and Dreamrush taking the Section B and Charlie Richardson on top of the Junior section with Bee Cool
