Canberra Horse Trials 2025 - order or view XC Videos here
The 2025 Canberra International Horse Trials (4th – 6th April) kicked off on Friday afternoon with some of the EvA80 competitors taking to the dressage arenas at Equestrian Park in the national capital, but it was the Asset Hire Construction CCI4*-S riders who kicked off the action on Saturday morning.
It is perfect autumnal eventing weather here in Canberra and the 15 riders in the 4* enjoyed the early morning sunshine as they strutted their stuff in the dressage arena under the watchful eye of judges Peter Shaw and Veronica Steward.
By the end of the session, it was Shane Rose riding the elegant mare Easy Turn, recently returned to competition, in the lead - but only just! Shane, who led after dressage on Easy Turn at the recent Sydney Eventing Autumn Classic, leads on a score of 27.10 with his World Championship and Olympic teammate Shenae Lowings riding Bold Venture just behind on 27.4.
Another top name in Australian eventing, Hazel Shannon riding Willingapark Clifford holds third place on 32.10 with showjumping to come this afternoon and cross country tomorrow.
We also have results in from yesterday’s EvA80 classes with Emma Mason riding Grandview Kaddilac Jack leading the Johnson’s Natural Formula Section A, Alex Townsend riding WHF Coyote leading the Near Side Equine Section B and Zoe Collier riding Klovelly KM leading the Ranvet Junior Section.
Check back later today for more results and updates across the classes.
We’re filming all riders on cross country so don’t forget to keep an eye on our socials for video snippets and more during the event!
