It may not be an international competition, but the REC Equine Specialists Sydney Eventing Autumn Classic is as popular as ever with riders of all levels in NSW. The start of season kick off at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre takes place this weekend on 7th & 8th March 2026 with national classes running from EvA65 to CCN4*.
The REC Equine Specialists CCN4* has 18 entries with multiple entries for Andrew Cooper, Oliver Barrett and Jess Somerfield. Oliver brings last year’s Sydney International 4*-L winner, Sandhills Briar alongside Sandhills Gem while Andrew Cooper is making the trip from Queensland with Sharvalley Thunder and Ocean Eight and last year's 4* winner here, Emma Mason on KPH Kingfisher is back again this year.
Shane Rose will be competing this class on last year's 3* winner, Holy Moses and Shenae Lowings has Bold Venture, ready for what could be another Championship year for them. Shane will also be busy in the Assistance Dogs Australia CCN3* with three rides on up and coming horses, Cooley All Over, Diva Royale and Limitless Lodge Zsa Zsa, but will be up against his wife and her very successful Dreamrush
Due to work being done in Main Arena and Arena 2 at SIEC, some classes will be doing their dressage tests on the grass Hack Arena, by the North Truck Park and the CCN2*, 3* and 4* classes will show jump in the Indoor arena on Saturday afternoon. The four EvA65 sections and the three EvA95 sections will head out on cross country on Saturday while all other competitors will cross country on Sunday.
We’ll be filming all competitors both days on cross country and will see you there!
