Two CCI4* eventing competitions were meant to take place this weekend but with the WAYER International Horse Trials near Perth expecting Cyclone Narelle to descend upon them soon, they have decided to cancel all competition on Saturday and hope to run some lower-level classes on Sunday if the weather permits.
Tamworth International Eventing however, on the other side of the country in NSW, is all set for a big weekend at the Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre. 17 combinations are lining up for the Britt Grovenor Photography CCI4*-S, including Shenae Lowings riding Bold Venture, Andrew Barnett riding Oscar Park Deluge and Andrew Cooper riding Ocean Eight, three of the combinations just announced for the Australian Senior Oceania Championship teams at Adelaide next month.
Andrew Cooper is also riding Sharvalley Thunder, who is aimed at CCI5* at Adelaide while Oliver Barrett is bringing Sandhills Gem and Sandhills Briar who we’re guessing are also aimed at the 5* in Adelaide. So, a big weekend of top-class eventing coming up!
All dressage takes place on Saturday, along with showjumping for all classes except the CCN1*, EvA95 and EvA65 sections who showjump on Sunday. The EvA95 and 65 sections also go cross country on Saturday afternoon while all other classes head out on the cross country on Sunday.
