Tanya Schmidt and her 14-year-old gelding Laurentino held on to their overnight lead in the Motorama Group CCI4*-S at the Motorama Toyota Tamborine One Day Event in Queensland to take their first CCI4*-S win

Today they added 10.8 time penalties on cross country to finish on a score of 47.50 and take the win ahead of Natalia Siiankoski riding Royal Talisman, who also added 10.8 time penalties and Mattea Davidson riding APH Charlie Brown in third place

“I’ve had Laurie since he was a baby and produced him all the way from Pre-Intro to 5* and he’s had wins at all levels on the way up” says Tanya, who competed Laurentino at their first CCI5* at the Australian International 3 Day Event last year and is planning a return to Adelaide later this year, as well as a trip south to Melbourne International 3 Day Event in June.

After a big weekend competing at Sydney International last week, the pair had a much quicker trip home from this event, living just ten minutes down the road from the Tamborine One Day Event venue at Kelecyn

   Brooke Dougall and My Locky

Brooke Dougall won the West Vets Animal Hospital CCI3*-S on board My Locky, her ‘horse of a lifetime’. They produced the only double clear cross country round to move ahead of Andrew Cooper riding Pepper Jack who was relegated to second place with 0.8 time penalties with Andrew saying “I went too slowly!” but he did go home with a winner’s rug in the All Horses Veterinary Service CCI2*-S riding Cil Dara Dexter, who did come home double clear on cross country
