Wallaby Hill Young Horse Festival 2024 cancelled

The Gow-Gates Young Horse Festival and CCN, that was scheduled to take place at Wallaby Hill in the Southern Highlands of NSW on 30th November and 1st December 2024 has been cancelled due to impending weather conditions.

The final competition of the year on the Australian eventing calendar, the event would have seen a new format, with a focus on Young Horse classes running alongside EvA80, EvA95, CCN1* and CCN2* classes on the boutique property at Wallaby Hill Farm. But sadly, with a high volume of rain forecast in the area on both Friday and Saturday, the organisers have opted to cancel as ‘with this much rain predicted, it isn't safe, and it won't be fun”.

It has been a weather roller-coaster for eventing in NSW with the Sydney International Three Day Event running in high temperatures last week and now, just 90 minutes south of Sydney, the Wallaby Hill venue at Robertson likely to receive up to 40mm of rain each day.

At this stage it’s not sure if the event will be completely cancelled or postponed to a later date but the good news is that Wallaby Hill is back on the FEI calendar in 2025 as well as hosting its early season event, the Wallaby Hill Extravaganza in February.
