The 100-day review of Brisbane 2032 Olympic stadium options being conducted by the Games Independent Infrastructure Coordination Authority (GIICA) will deliver its findings to the Queensland Government on 8th March 2025.
Discussions will be held with Brisbane 2032 partners, including the International Olympic Committee, before Cabinet signs off on the delivery plan on March 24th and a public announcement on March 25th.
One of the venues being touted as most likely to host a major new stadium and other facilities is Victoria Park, originally proposed as the venue for the cross country phase of the eventing at Brisbane 2032.
A discussion paper supporting the development of Victoria Park as a major sporting and entertainment precinct was sent to the GIICA by the design and engineering consultancy company Arcadis, who made public its Strategic Case Discussion Paper entitled for Victoria Park: Creating a Lasting Legacy for Brisbane in December 2024.
Since then, the Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority has received more than 5,000 submissions during its 100-day review. These include proposals from other equestrian venues near Brisbane such as the Warwick Horse Trials venue at Morgan Park, the Gold Coast Turf Club and the Toowoomba Equestrian Centre.
