Stuart Tinney’s Adelaide CCI4* (now 5*) winner Panamera has been laid to rest at home at Tinney Eventing in NSW. The 26-year-old mare, owned by Tim Game, won Adelaide CCI4* in 2011 and was short listed for the Australian team at the 2012 London Olympics, but was later retired from top-level eventing after incurring a tendon injury.
Her competition career didn’t quite end there however as, once she had recovered from injury and was fully sound, Stuart’s daughter Gemma took over the reins to do some showjumping, with the pair not only winning at Pony Club and Young Rider levels but also claiming a win in a 180cm Bareback Showjumping competition.
She was also a good mum to several well-bred babies, spending several years as a broodmare with Seamus and Dani Marwood in Victoria before retiring back home to Tinney Eventing in NSW three years ago. Unfortunately, a paddock injury a few weeks ago led to complications and Panamera was laid to rest.
“I’m forever grateful to you Buzz” says Gemma while Stuart and Karen Tinney have said on their social media that “We are truly devastated; we have lost one of our most loved champions. RIP Buzz”
