A chip off the old block - Scout Lodder

10 year old Scout Lodder may have looked as cool as a cucumber as she held aloft the trophy for the New Zealand Horse & Pony CCN105 but she admitted to being very nervous as she went in to jump

Scout won the class on board the 7 year old Overnight Success, finishing on their dressage score of 27.5 after withdrawing her other horse Pioneer Makokomiko, who was lying in second place after the cross country, at the second horse inspection

It wasn’t just Scout that had a few butterflies but her mum, the well known eventing rider Dannie Lodder was watching on the sidelines, was a bit nervous too

Dannie and Scout told us about Overnight Success, who was lucky enough to be rescued from an abattoir, what it’s like to be mum and daughter training and competing together and Danni wonders how she’ll cope with the nerves when Scout gets to 3* ...............
