Rebecca Martin and Jaybee Amigo

Sometimes a horse goes by and you just have to know more .......

This happened at Lakes & Craters International Horse Trials recently when a stunning palomino caught my eye, so much so that I had to stop eating my ice cream, jump out of the car and interview the rider Rebecca Martin.

Not only was Jaybee Amigo a lovely horse to look at but the colour co-ordination between horse and rider was something to behold! Everything was impeccable – down to the boots and even the crop (I did point out that the watch didn’t match but apparently it does match Rebecca’s cross country colours)

A stop on cross country at the dratted water had dashed their hopes of a place in the EvA95A class but the pair have had a good year. And there is quite a back story - although Jaybee Amigo looks as pretty as a picture he has seen a few ups and downs having been a serving stallion, an outback pony and having overcome a severed tendon which looked to threaten any future career .....
