Top gear needed at Equestrian In The Park, Perth

Harry Meade on his way to winning a car at Eventing In The Park

Two McInerney Ford cars are up for grabs at Pearllargo Equestrian In The Park on Saturday 30th November and, if past years are anything to go by, the visiting riders from overseas will have a good chance of driving away with the top prizes if they get into top gear on the unique show jumping/cross country course in the centre of Perth, Australia

Britain’s William Fox-Pitt and UK based Australian rider Sam Griffiths are two of the riders heading to Perth this week for some sun and a lot of fun, following in the footsteps of visiting internationals such as Sir Mark Todd, Harry Meade and Chris Burton, who have all won cars in previous years (we’re still not sure how they get them home, but it must still be easier than the John Deere tractor to be won at the Sweden Indoor International ….. )

Approximately 50 riders will compete in the Diamond Class (comparable to 1* level) and 25 in the Grand Prix (2*/3*) – we’ll bring you the full list of horses and riders after the Pearllargo ‘A Night With The Stars’ on Thursday night when William and Sam will be attending the official EITP 2019 Riders Draw

The real action then takes place on Saturday 30th at Victoria Park in Perth, AUS with not just the two eventing competitions (the Diamond Class runs from 10am until 2:30pm and the Grand Prix from 3:45pm until 6pm) but also the Fashions on the Field Parade and Prizegiving, the Public Course Walk hosted by some top riders and of course, the great hospitality options

The Channel 7 coverage of last year’s Equestrian In The Park gives a great feel of what its all about so pull up a comfy chair, grab yourself drink and imagine you are eventing in the centre of Perth …..

We’ll be bringing you more after the draw on Thursday and a full wrap up after the event. And stay tuned to our social media channels for some fun snippets direct from Perth during the event!
