Saturday at Tamworth

Shenae Lowings and Bold Venture have been knocking on the door of a CCI4* win in recent times and finally at Tamworth International Eventing 2022, they secured the top spot

Shenae and the 12-year-old thoroughbred who is well-known for his dressage ability held second place behind Andrew Barnett riding Go Tosca after Saturday’s dressage, but they moved into the lead later that day with a clear show jumping round in the Equilume CCI4*-S

On Sunday they proved that, as well as being a good dancer in the sand pit, Bold Venture retains his thoroughbred speed, producing the second fastest cross country round in wet conditions.

They added 13.6 time penalties (Andrew Cooper and Omega Star claimed the fastest time, coming home with 12.8 to move them into fifth place) to finish on a score of 42.50, ahead of second placed Sam Lyle riding BF Valour (46) and Gemma Tinney on board Diabolo (51.30) in third place

Olivia Barton riding Henrik AP won the OzShotz CCI3*-S and Rebel Morrow riding Maximus Prime took the Completely Equine CCI2*-S
