The Sydney Royal Easter Show is always a favourite for us and apparently for our followers! The SIX BAR showjumping is the highlight with Gemma winning (again!) jumping Fernhill Aisling Star to 1.70! Sadly she (again) beat her father in the last round! (Watch their winning ride here)
Eventing News
On the eventing front, Canberra in April was quiet with Stuart and Jaymee riding (yes, correct Jaymee, not Gemma) and Stuart's new horse, Blacklist SF (Jimmy) with Kerry Blair and Alice Weller as owners, just starting his career! Jimmy is such a baby - another horse to start and move up the grades. '
He is delightful and a pleasure to work with, so we’re hoping he will mature to be another superstar! Jaymee has been joining the family eventing outings with one of our newish additions to the stable - Thunder Force (Thunder), an attractive thoroughbred, just five years old. We will see what Thunder delivers in the future. It was truly lovely to have Jaymee's fun personality and seeing her pick up the reins again after a very long spell! She certainly has not lost her nerve or talent!
At the very start of May Gemma competed at Equestriad on board Fernhill Aisling Star with a top 10 finish in the CCI3*.
Visit to Santa Anita Park - LA28 Olympic Games
During April Stuart spent two weeks in America, where one stop was to view the location for the LA 28 Olympic Games equestrian events.
Santa Anita Park is a historic horse racing venue that will be re-invented into the equestrian site for LA28 Olympic Games. 'It is a super site with great footing plus facilities to work with, it is exciting to see it now and how it will evolve for the Games in 2028' says Stuart.
Whilst in America Stuart represented the High Performance program and supported Australian riders at the Kentucky CCI5* Event in Lexington. The Australian eventers now have the benefit of having Stuart as their lead so we hope to see some great results in the future heading towards LA28.
The winner of the CCI5* was one of our very own previous horses Diabolo (Dab) ridden by Will Coleman; a very well-polished ride and just heartfelt to see Dab doing his job and loving it!
