The four horses that travelled on Shane Rose's truck to Adelaide all had podium finishes, including first and second in the CCI4* - you can’t do much better than that! Groom Rachel Watts tells us how her week in Adelaide unfolded

When I left the UK I had envisioned that I would take a month or so off to relax and catch up with family and friends then figure out what I wanted to do and find some work, a nice horse to play with and get life back on track. This isn’t exactly how the last few months have gone.

Rachel Watts will be back in Australia for a while and she looks back on her amazing two years at Chris Burton’s yard and their travels around the eventing world

In the final month of competition Rachel managed to spend 5 nights at home in her own bed but there were some good results for Team Burto to make the end of year travels worth it

"One should always remember to never get too excited too early" says Rachel Watts as she looks back on the Australian team's and Team Burton's experience at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Normandy

Chris Burton's Graf Liberty sadly had to be pulled out of competition during Aachen but Rachel Watts had him (the horse, not Burto) looking the part with some Aussie dye. Now it's all systems go for WEG for Team Burton

Rachel Watts fills us in on her latest travels, not only with Team Burto but also a bit of R&R in sunny Spain thanks to the Badminton winner, and there's plenty more coming up

As she writes her blog, Rachel Watts is about to leave for Luhmuhlen having not spent much time at home recently due to Badminton and Saumur. But the French food makes up for that!

Chris Burton's groom Rachel Watts and her 4-legged charge TS Jamaimo are headed to Badminton, a great place not only for the competition but also for Pimm's, stalking top riders and catching up with old friends

Rachel Watts, who works for Chris Burton, is happy that the UK eventing is now in full swing and so far she has coped with sun, fog and hail!
