My Maiden Voyage

It is a very interesting experience making the maiden voyage towards the dream of the Olympic Games! It is hard to imagine that in only 20 weeks the games will be in full swing and that my life goal of riding my home bred horse Mustang who I’ve grown up with could be performing on the biggest stage in the world!

Of course this sport is one mad roller coaster ride and there is a lot to be done between now and then! My first target is to put in a solid performance at Albury CIC 3* on the last weekend on March. If Mustang jumps like he did at Scone last weekend he will certainly deliver a great display of air time! Then we will go into the Sydney Show, something I haven't yet experienced and we will try our skill at Express Eventing which I think will be the most fun thing! Performing on that arena will be the best thing we have access to, to simulate the Olympic arena and atmosphere! Exciting.

We will then be staring down the barrel of the Sydney International CCI which will be the main event where the competition will be intense! No one will be there to come second, that’s for sure!! Everyone will be riding for their life to try and secure their place on the team and I will be one of them! It is certainly an exciting and intense time for me, each day I’m striving to make one part of the machine just a bit better and a bit better.

That’s all for this instalment in Emma Scott Eventing's Maiden Voyage!
