Update from Murray

The weather has improved the last few days but the usual ‘rain just around the corner situation’ is normal and continues.

We were going to go to a CIC2* this weekend but I have decided there is much more to achieve here. One other thing is that you are there with one horse for three days, which can mean there is a lot of time spent passing time. There is also the financial fact that I have to hire a truck for that time and I am not working for a wage while I am here.

   Ninja in his bedroom

Ninja is still well and he is so settled with the stable routine he has in his little ‘room’ with a small view of the parking lot. I have found a lot of riding out with good road edges and tracks through forests or around corn crops. Also the ground is not quite as flat as I thought. This means hopefully I won't have to hire a vehicle to do gallops for fitness (at least not yet).

I’m just going to have a quiet flat session this morning. Yesterday I did dressage in the am and then pm a light jump and then a light gallop. My theory is that while I have the time I might try to keep all the phases familiar to him instead of going as far as I can over a few days with the dressage and then finding that it doesn't all go hand in hand with the jumping ride you want.

The gallops I will talk about another time …

Bye for now,

Murray
