2018 FEI World Equestrian Games logo revealed

The Organizing Committee for the 2018 FEI World Equestrian GamesTM (COJEM) welcomed the citizens of Bromont on November 16th to an information session at the St-François-Xavier church. The session was presented in two parts: to inform the public of the progress in the preparations and also to highlight the fact that only 1000 days remain until the event is held from August 11 to 26, 2018 on the Equestrian Site of the 1976 Olympic Games.

The President of the Board of Directors of the Organizing Committee for the 2018 FEI World Equestrian GamesTM (COJEM), François Duffar, unveiled the new logo which is based on a giant letter B to emphasize the host city and the colour red, representing the Canadian flag. In continuation of the branding developed for the 2014 games in Normandy, the logo includes a rider’s head merging with the shape of a horse to reflect the close, harmonious relationship between the rider and their mount.

During his presentation of the Board of Directors’ team, François Duffar stated that “these games will be held by determined people, with an entrepreneurial spirit and the passionate hearts of champions.”

Luc Fournier, the President and Director General, reassured the residents of Bromont and the region, who were present at the event, on a number of issues including housing, transportation, the promotion of the region’s economic development and restaurants, sustainable development, and the well-being of the animals. “These Games will be a success if the residents of Bromont and the surrounding area are on our side from the start because we need your support and trust to succeed. One thousand (1000) days is both a long and a very short time, and the job before us is huge”, said Mr. Fournier.

Other than Lexington, Kentucky in 2010, Bromont will be the only location outside of Europe to have held the World Equestrian Games. The Olympic Equestrian Park in Bromont, which hosted the equestrian events during the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, will be the focal point for some 500 000 spectators during the 2018 World Equestrian Games. The Alltech FEI 2014 World Equestrian Games were held in Normandy, France
