Sad news for Sparkle and Craig

Following the announcement regarding the Australian team for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Normandy this week, Craig Barrett has announced that his horse Sandhills Brillaire will be unable to compete at the final Fitness Test competition at Sydney @ SIEC next weekend.

Craig and Sandhills Brillaire, winners of the 4* at Australian International 3 Day Event in 2012, were one of seven combinations listed from which three team reserves will be chosen on or before 23rd July

Sandhills Horses announced on their Facebook page that

“It is with great disappointment that today I have had to notify the Australian selectors and Equestrian Australia of the withdrawal of Sandhills Brillaire from the ongoing selection procedure. Sandhills Brillaire aka Sparkle, was due to compete at her final Fitness Test Competition at Sydney CNC July 20. Unfortunately, Sparkle will not be fit enough to compete at this event. Therefore, she will not be fit enough, if selected, to successfully compete for Australia at the upcoming World Equestrian Games in Normandy in August.

I would especially like to thank Sparkle's owners, Keith and Julie Osborne, for their continued support of Sparkle and myself in our quest for Australian Team selection”
