Fredericks' mares added to studbook

Two four-star event mares ridden by Australian eventers Dunges Laurent Rose and Prada were both awarded Elite Status and added to the SHB(GB) Head Stud Book at the recent mare grading at West Kington Stud in Wiltshire, UK

The 14-year-old grey Dunges Laurent Rose, (above) owned and bred by Alice and Tim Page, gained the highest marks of the day. By the thoroughbred Almushmmir a son of Champion miler Kris out of a homebred mare by the Hessen-bred skewbald Stanhope Diddecoy, she was formerly ridden by Australian eventer Clayton Fredericks.

During her career Rose was fifth at Luhmuhlen CCI4* (2011) and ninth at Pau CCI4* (2011) and the same year won the World Cup three-star qualifier at Le Pin Haras and gained a total of 462 British Eventing (BE) points over eight seasons of competing. She retired in 2012 and was presented for grading with a foal at foot by the Thoroughbred Mr Big Cat.

Prada, owned by her rider Lucinda Fredericks and Miss Vicki Miller, is currently competing. The 13-year-old mare was bred in Baden Wurtemberg and is by the Oldenberg Pik Junior out of a mare by the Westphalian Palisador. In 2011 she was 16th at Badminton CCI4* and the same year completed Burghley CCI4*. She has three foals courtesy of embryo transfer; two by Sir Donnerhall and one by William Fox-Pitt’s four-star winner, Oslo.
