Andrew Nicholson will be philandering around this season with a new ride on the progeny of an old favourite

No, we’re not casting aspersions on Andrew’s character! We recently did an article about top eventing stallion Jumbo and his famous progeny, including Andrew’s Avebury who took out the Wide Awake Trophy at the British Breeder’s Awards last weekend

The latest news from Grafham Stud in the UK, home of Jumbo, is that the World's Number One Eventer Andrew Nicholson (who has always had a soft spot for Jumbo progeny, with successes on Avebury winner of Burghley 2012 and Henry Tankerville amongst others) has been given the ride this year on a look-a-like son of Jumbo fondly known as "Junior".

Officially named The Philanderer this six year old has only recently begun his eventing career and reports from the Nicholson yard are encouraging and exciting at this early stage of his training.

We’ll certainly be keeping an eye out for Andrew aboard The Philanderer in the upcoming season.

Grafham Stud is also offering semen from the young stallion Wish Upon A Star to Australian performance breeders for this season only at a discounted rate; for more information contact Sue Tufnell www.tullowstud.com
