Young Event Horse class at D&JWTS

A Young Eventing Horse competition is to be held at the PSI Dressage & Jumping with the Stars in Victoria in March

First it was Dressage with the Stars, then it was Dressage & Jumping with the Stars and now the eventing fraternity is getting a look in at the big Victorian event.

The PSI Dressage & Jumping with the Stars, which runs at Werribee Park from 24th – 26th March 2017, will this year include a Young Event Horse class. The format is similar to that of many Young Event Horse classes around the world with a Dressage phase where the judges are looking for obedience, suppleness and correct, elastic, regular gaits, Conformation where the horse is assessed in hand and Jumping.

The jumping tests will be over a combined solid obstacle and show jumping course with the solid obstacles to be jumped first followed by the show jumps. The rider will be expected to show the horse in a hand gallop and the rider attire will be as for cross country

The winner of each age group will have the highest overall marks from the three sections. The three age groups will be;

 

Class 1 - 4yo & 5yo horses (born between 1-8-2011 to 31-7-2013)

Dressage Test: Novice 2.1

Jump Height: up to 90cm

 

Class 2 - 6yo & 7yo horses (1-8-09 to 31-7-2011)

Dressage Test: FEI 1*B

Jump Height: up to 110cm
