British eventing horse Opposition Buzz dies

Opposition Buzz Nicola Wilson

Opposition Buzz, the horse that was the pathfinder for the British team at two European Championships (Fontainebleu 2009 and Luhmühlen 2011), the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Kentucky 2010 and the London 2012 Olympic Games, has sadly died at the age of 17

On her website Nicola Wilson says “Our beloved Dodi sadly passed away yesterday after several weeks of enjoying his well deserved retirement. He had a seizure in the morning and was put to sleep on veterinary advice. A shock to us all - a very special horse who will be missed beyond belief. He made so much possible and opened so many doors for me. Rest in peace Dodi and Thank You”

Nicola Wilson Opposition Buzz

A horse that always showed great passion for cross country, Opposition Buzz never won a 4* event but was part of the WEG gold medal winning British team in Kentucky and the silver medal winning team on home turf at the London Olympic Games. Bred and owned by Rosemary Search, the decision was made by Rosemary and Nicola earlier this year to retire the 16.1hh black gelding from top level competition but he still delighted his fans by winning the Advanced class at Chatsworth International Horse Trials, the CIC3* at Hopetoun and was fourth in the CIC3* at Tattersalls in 2014.
