Brookleigh relocates to Mary King’s yard

Clayton and Brookleigh win the CIC 2* at Haras du Pin 2012

Following Clayton Fredericks’ relocation to America, his former ride Brookleigh has also relocated to Mary King's yard in Devon to be campaigned whilst he is for sale. At the moment it is still to be determined whether Brookleigh will be competed by Olympic silver medallist Mary or her daughter and European Eventing Junior silver medallist, Emily but no doubt either will do a great job

The 16.2hh 10yo dark brown warmblood gelding by Rockwell is for sale through well known eventing horse agent, Sharon Ridgway. According to Sharon the horse is “a very smart mover, a capable careful jumper and an incredibly uncomplicated ride”

Brookleigh the horse is named after the beautiful property near Perth, Australia, Brookleigh Estate, of his current owner, Nikki Brooks. Nikki is also the owner of Sonja Johnson’s 4* horse Parkiarrup Illicit Liaison and Brookleigh Estate is the venue for two major eventing competitions in Western Australia each year.

Clayton and Brookleigh had a successful partnership from the start, winning the CCI 1* at Fontainebleau in 2009, then Barroca d'Alva CCI2* and were 10th at Blenheim CCI3* in 2010. In 2011 they were second in the CICO 3* at Fontainebleau and more recently the pair won the CIC 2* at Haras du Pin in 2012 as well as 6th in the Malmo World Cup CIC 3* in Sweden.

We’re looking forward to seeing Brookleigh out and about with Mary or Emily in the near future
