Australia take silver at FEI Nations Cup

Team Great Britain took the top place on podium at the Subaru Houghton Hall International FEI Nations Cup in Norfolk yesterday with the Australian team of Wendy Schaffer, Sam Griffiths, Catherine Burrell and Lucinda Fredericks taking silver and Germany bronze.

Team GB Olympic hopeful Piggy French won the overall CIC 3* class on her lovely horse Jakarta, New Zealander Mark Todd on NZB Campino placed second and Sarah Cohen on Treason was third. Lucinda Fredericks was the highest place Australian in 4th place on Flying Finish. Lucinda also came second in the CCI 1* class on Rovello II, only 0.2 points behind the winner Alex Postolowsky and Wow II

Catherine Burrell and Urzan placed 18th individually, Sam Griffiths and Paulank Brockagh 19th and Wendy Schaeffer with Koyuna Sun Dancer 28th. Other Australians competing in this class were Sam Griffiths and Happy Times (27th), Emma Dougall and Kelecyn Ice Age (31st) and Bill Levett with Shannondale Titan who opted to withdraw before show jumping.

Australian Kevin McNab and Clifton Pinot will complete the CIC 3* Section D today – he is currently on a score of 47.6 after dressage. Lucinda was also competing in this class on The Navigator but withdrew after the dressage phase but Sam Griffiths will be competing on Real Dancer, currently on a great dressage score of 36.3. Bill Levett will be competing in the CCI 2* on Out of Touch II
