The final FEI Eventing World Rankings for 2024 have been published, including the Zone Rankings that are processed just once a year.
With the UK and European season having ended in late October, it is no surprise that there is no movement in the December rankings with Britain’s Tom McEwen finishing the year as the World Number One Eventing rider for 2024 (552 points) with New Zealand’s Tim Price in second place (536 points) and Britain’s Ros Canter in third (487 points).
Britain dominates the end of year World Rankings with seven riders in the top ten while Tim Price (NZL), Felix Vogg (SUI) in ninth place and Boyd Martin (USA) in 10th place are the representatives joining them from other countries.
Indeed, there have only been minor changes in the top 50 in the December rankings, but November did bring some improvements for those based in the Southern Hemisphere.
Shane Rose ends the year just outside of the top 50, in 52nd place thanks to placings at the Sydney International Three Day Event while the Sydney 3DE CCI4*-L winner Sam Jeffree moved up from 89th to finish the year in 53rd place.
Australia’s Jess Rae, who took third place in the CCI4*-L at Sydney 3DE also jumped up the leaderboard into 85th place from 204th while the USA’s Jessica Phoenix was another big mover in November, from 164th to 62nd place thanks to good results at The Event at TerraNova.
Chris Burton, who has recently re-located back to Australia, finishes the year as the highest ranked Australian rider in 14th place
FEI Eventing Zone Rankings 2024
The Zone Rankings, published just once a year take into account results obtained between 1 January and 31 December 2024 with the following riders topping their zones.
North Western Europe: Tom McEwen (GBR)
South Western Europe: Felix Vogg (SUI)
Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia: Miroslav Trunda (CZE)
North America: Boyd Martin (USA)
Central and South America: Mauricio Bermudez (COL)
Africa and Middle East: Victoria Scott – Legendre (RSA)
South East Asia and Oceania: Tim Price (NZL)
