The timetable and agenda have been set for the 13th edition of the FEI Sports Forum, to take place at the IMD Business School in Lausanne on 31st March and 1st April 2025.
The annual Forum will once again focus on topics and invite debate relevant to the future of equestrian sport with eight sessions on topics including the qualification systems for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Dressage Strategic Action Plan, FEI Equine Welfare Strategy Action Plan, profile and job description of the future FEI President and an update on the work of the FEI Officials Working Group.
Three sets of rules – FEI Jumping Rules, FEI Eventing Rules, and FEI Driving and Para Driving Rules – are undergoing full revision in 2025 and a dedicated session for each will be on the programme.

Qualification Systems for Jumping, Dressage, Eventing as well as Para Dressage for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games
The first session of the FEI Sports Forum 2025 will be dedicated to the Qualification Systems for Jumping, Dressage, Eventing as well as Para Dressage for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The FEI President will introduce the main principles and deadlines, and the relevant FEI Sports Directors and FEI Deputy Legal Director will present the proposed systems in further detail.
The main topics to be discussed as part of the Qualification System review are - allocation of quota places (Team and Individual) across the FEI Olympic Groups, qualification events and Olympic Rankings, Minimum Eligibility Requirements, re-allocation of quota places and overall qualification timeline.
The FEI Olympic Regulations for the LA28 Olympic Games (which deal with competition formats, pre-competition changes/substitutions, etc.) will be part of the 2026 Rule Revision process and will only be put forward for approval at the FEI General Assembly 2026 and are therefore not under discussion at this year’s FEI Sports Forum.
FEI Eventing Rules – Full Revision in 2025
Session 6 of the FEI Sports Forum 2025 will be dedicated to the FEI Eventing Rules, which, alongside the FEI Jumping Rules and the FEI Driving and Para Driving Rules, are undergoing a full revision this year. The Chair of the FEI Eventing Committee and the FEI Eventing Director will outline the proposed key changes and a panel consisting of the members of the FEI Eventing Committee will take part in the Q&A that will follow.
Discussion about the rules revision began at the FEI Eventing Forum 2025 held in January and will continue in the coming months in accordance with the FEI Rules Revision Policy 2025. The finalised version of the rules will be submitted to the vote of the FEI General Assembly 2025.
