FEI World Eventing Rankings - August

 

 

Germany’s Michael Jung  heads into the Rio Olympic Games as a firm favourite and still in the number one position as we near the start of the eventing competition at Deodoro Olympic Park

The latest FEI World Rankings for eventing have Michael in the number one spot on 599 points, Australia’s Chris Burton in second place on 457 and the USA’s Phillip Dutton has moved into third place (452) as Sir Mark Todd slips down to sixth.

Three riders have dropped out of the top 10 in the past month – Russia’s Aleksandr Markov has dropped from sixth to 20th, Britain’s Izzy Taylor from eighth to and New Zealand’s Jonelle Price from ninth to 22nd while Gemma Tattersall, part of the British team in Rio and the prolific Oliver Townend have both moved up into the top ten in eighth and tenth places respectively

Andrew Nicholson has made the jump of the month yet again to be back in the top ten, moving from 66th to ninth and another New Zealander, Tim Price has also moved up within this elite group, from tenth to fourth

There are now six Australian riders in the top 20 including US based Ryan Wood who has moved up from 46th to 27th
