A vacancy is now open for a full-time apprentice / working student with the up and coming young event rider Helen Bates to assist Helen and a part-time member of staff caring for her six event horses. 

Helen keeps her horses with Mark and Tanya Kyle who are based near Wymeswold, Leicestershire. The role would include all normal yard duties - mucking out, haying, feeding, cleaning tack, putting horses on walker, bathing and the general care of horses. Applicants must be confident about handling fit competition horses and happy working as part of a team. The Ability to lunge is a bonus and there is an opportunity to ride (hack out etc.) dependent on ability. Also there are opportunities to attend competitions with Helen and learn how an event yard works.

The successful applicant will be enrolled onto an approved Apprenticeship scheme with Stubbing Court Training to gain NVQ qualifications. Previous eventing-specific experience is not essential - although previous experience working with horses preferred. There is also an opportunity to work with foals and handle young stock.

Applicants must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn! Own horse welcome and extensive training provided - both in the saddle and on the ground. Six days per week.
