Wonder woman Ingrid Klimke has added a World Championship bronze team medal in Dressage to that of her many Olympic, World and European Championship medals in Eventing

Competing at her first World Championship in Dressage at the ECCO FEI World Championships in Herning, Ingrid kicked off the German team effort with a smart 75.683 from her horse Franziskus to ensure they were always going to be right in the mix. It was a personal best for this partnership.

“That was my major aim, and I got it!” said a delighted Ingrid

“He was with me the entire test. There was not a single moment in which I didn’t feel absolutely confident with our performance. Of course, he loves the extensions and in the last trot diagonal he knew what comes next. He lowered his croup in the corner, and he wanted to show everyone how great a mover he is!”

Ingrid has won three Eventing World Championship medals, in 2006 (Aachen – team gold), 2014 (Normandy -team gold) and 2018 (Tryon – individual bronze) and now has one in Dressage to add to it!

Denmark claimed Team gold on home ground at the ECCO FEI World Championships in Herning but they were chased all the way to the line by Great Britain’s Richard Davison, Gareth Hughes, Charlotte Dujardin and Charlotte Fry who finished just over one percentage point behind in silver medal position while the defending champions from Germany took bronze.
