Chilled out Chilli

After a fabulous four years with William Fox-Pitt, Chilli Morning retires to stud today. In Rio William announced that it would be the 17 year chestnut stallion's last event and today he left his home at Fox-Pitt Eventing to start the new phase of his life

Together William and Chilli won Bramham 3* three times, individual bronze at the 2013 European Championships in Malmo, individual bronze and team silver at the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Normandy and became the the first stallion to win at Badminton. And, as we found out in our interview with Chilli and his devoted groom Jackie Potts in the video below, Chilli Morning is also one cool dude.

William said that Chilli had been ‘half asleep’ most of the week but he certainly rose to the occasion when needed. We loved the super cool Chilli Morning at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games presentations and once again, as the Badminton winner, he seemed to take it all in his stride. He happily accepted all the crowd patting and attention as he quietly waited with his friend, super groom Jackie Potts who told us how lovely he was to handle

Look - no hands! Awaiting the presentation in Normandy
