At home with the Badminton champion

Taking in the moment; that’s Sam Griffiths with the 11 year old mare Paulank Brockagh (Brocks) who has just won Eventing’s most coveted prize the £80,000 Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials.

Here are a few shots of Sam and Brocks  relaxing at their stables near Gillingham with the solid silver Mitsubishi Motors Trophy, which Sam had just taken careful delivery of.  Joining them are Dinah Posford and her daughter Juliet Carter, co-owners of Brocks.

“The beautiful trophy has just arrived.  It’s engraved with so many great riders, seeing Brocks and my name alongside them made it sink in what we’ve achieved, it’s a dream come true.  It’s also great that the Posford family are here to enjoy the moment too as they have been great supporters to me throughout my career” commented Sam.

Sam moved to the UK permanently in 1995, returning to his roots as his father is English.  For the past five years he has lived near Gillingham on the Dorset and Somerset border with his British wife Lucy and 16 month old son Ollie.
