Applications sought for 2015 Oceania Team Championships

Australia won the Young Rider Oceania Championships in 2014

Equestrian Australia (EA) is seeking applications from Australian based combinations to compete in the Oceania Team Championship at Taupo in New Zealand from 15th to 17th May 2015. EA will be sending a team of both Senior and Young Riders, complimented by a Chef d’Equipe, a coach and a vet to accompany the team for the event.

Australia will be sending a team of four riders and horses plus two non-travelling reserves for the Senior competition and applications are sought from combinations qualified at CCI3* or above

From this list of applicants a long list of potential team members will be announced by the National Eventing Selectors on 23rd February 2015. An unranked squad of six rider/horse combinations will then be advised on 15th April following the Albury and Brigadoon CIC3* events which are part of the selection requirements

The Young Rider Oceania Championships are open for riders between the ages of 16-21 and Australia will be sending four CCI2* rider/horse combinations. Again, an unranked squad will be announced on 15th April following the selection events at Albury and Brigadoon.

The last Senior Championships (previously known as Trans Tasman) was held at the Sydney International 3 Day Event in 2013 when the Australian team of Stuart Tinney, Natalie Blundell, Craig Barrett and Emma Scott was victorious. In 2014 the Australian Young Rider team of Jaimie Stichel, Teegan Ashby, Gabrielle Pither and Michaela Martindale won the Oceania Young Rider challenge at the Melbourne International Horse Trials
