ESNZ Eventing Super League update

Katharine Van Tuyl’s second placing on Double J Sunshine (above) in the Red Snap’r CIC3* class at the National Eventing Championships at Arran Station, Takapau, over the weekend, has extended her lead in the ESNZ Eventing Super League, after winning the Total Industrial Solutions CIC3* class at Taupo a fortnight earlier.

National title classes earn 50% more points than other Super League classes, so place getters at Takapau have opened up a wide margin at this early stage of the year long series. Clarke Johnstone and Balmoral Sensation, who won the national title with an outstanding performance, but did not start at Taupo, have entered the League table in second place.

Virginia Thompson and Star Nouveau’s third place at Takapau has seen them move into third position, despite not starting at Taupo, relegating Samantha Felton and Ricker Ridge Escada to fourth.

The next event in the series is at McLeans Island, near Christchurch, on 7/8 November, followed a week later by Woodhill Sands, near Helensville. Balmoral Sensation will contest the Australian CCI4* at Adelaide that same weekend, and is able to earn Super League points there, so there could be major changes to the points table next month.
