The organisers of the three eventing competitions that make up the Grand Slam of Eventing series (Defender Kentucky Three Day Event, MARS Badminton Horse Trials, and Defender Burghley Horse Trials) and US Equestrian have advised that the Grand Slam of Eventing Series will not be contested in 2025.
The Grand Slam of Eventing, previously sponsored by Rolex, requires a rider to win all three of the above Grand Slam events consecutively, but not necessarily in the same year. That feat has only been achieved twice - the $350,000 prize was won by Pippa Funnell in 2003 and by three-time Olympic individual gold medallist in eventing, Michael Jung, in 2016. In September 2024, Rolex announced it would no longer continue its sponsorship of the Grand Slam of Eventing.
The organisers of the Grand Slam of Eventing say that “We are currently exploring alternative formats for the series. While discussions with potential sponsors are ongoing, a new sponsor for the series has not been identified at this time”
