Thank you Blenheim and British Eventing

Chris Burton and Clever Louis - 2019 CCI4* class winners at Blenheim

The SsangYong Blenheim Palace Horse Trials has donated £1,000 to the Equestrian Fire Relief Australia Fund (EFRA) and donated 40 admission tickets for the first day of dressage at this year’s event — Thursday, 17 September 2020  — to be used in the online auction and as raffle prizes at the Eventing Riders Association (ERA)-organised Celebrity Riders Fundraising Demo For Aussie Fires on 26 January

The successful bidders on and winners of the 2020 SsangYong Blenheim Palace Horse Trials tickets will receive Marlborough Pavilion (Members) admission, grandstand seats, forward parking and an exclusive course walk with Chris Burton, winner of Blenheim’s CCI4*-S class for eight- and nine-year-old horses in both 2017 and 2019.

“I will be delighted to share my thoughts on the 2020 Blenheim course with the generous bidders of the course walk prize, it is such a worthy cause and very close to home for me. Blenheim is one of my favourite events and I look forward to competing there this year” says Chris, originally from Queensland and now based in the UK

Blenheim Horse Trials is owned by the sport’s governing body, British Eventing, which usually invests any event profits back into the sport for the benefit of members. In a generous gesture of international equestrian support and solidarity, British Eventing has kindly agreed to allow the event to make this significant donation to the Equestrian Fire Relief Australia Fund, as well as tickets to the 2020 event, to help further its fundraising efforts. In addition, the event has also donated the fee usually paid by An Eventful Life to film at their event to the EFRA Fund

“Eventing is such a ‘community’ sport’” says Event Director Mandy Hervieu “And, like members of the Eventing Riders Association (ERA), we are keen to do what we can. We hope a huge sum can be raised for this urgent cause and encourage everyone to give what they can through EFRA"

Many top riders from Australia and around the world vie for the prestigious titles on offer each year at the SsangYong Blenheim Palace Horse Trials

“Blenheim is a great event - one of my favourites in the eventing calendar" says Bill Levett “I may live on the other side of the world but my roots and a large part of my family are still in Australia. It’s been hard to watch what’s happening there. I am extremely grateful to Blenheim Horse Trials for their generosity in donating such fantastic auction items”
