According to the FEI World Eventing Rankings for the end of June, Britain’s Tom McEwen has moved into the Number Two position of the rankings with New Zealand’s Tim Price still holding the top spot.
Tim’s win at Millstreet on Falco helped boost his points to 539 while Tom McEwen has moved into second place, replacing Jonelle Price (now in ninth) and gaining on Tim with 503 points.
Tom’s big points earner in June came from the very talented up-and-coming mare, Luna Mist, thanks to her fourth place in the CCI4*-L at Bramham International.
While his top stars JL Dublin and Toledo De Kerser may have had great results at Kentucky and Badminton 5* (second and fourth respectively) earlier this year, the up-and-coming Luna Mist looks like she may be the next one to step to 5* with three very good results at 4*-L out of her four starts at that level.
Ros Canter remains in third place on 500 points, Oliver Townend has moved up a couple of spots into fourth (478), Tamie Smith also stays put in fifth place (449) and World Champion Yasmin Ingham has jumped from 11th into sixth place (439)
The top ranked Australian is Shane Rose, dropping from inside the top 10 last month to 12th (365) and the only other Australian in the top 50 is Victorian-based Sophia Hill in 41st place.
