Ex-Aussie Boyd Martin and his wife Silva are looking for a working pupil at Windurra Farm, Pennsylvania, USA. In their blog they say that

“Make no mistake, this position is not suitable for 99% of people out there. As history shows, the majority of established eventing legends are a product of a program. I am a firm believer that the only way a talented rider turns into a champion is through thousands of hours of gruelling work, surrounded by brilliant trainers, horsemanship, riders, sponsors and owners. To get a complete understanding on how to be successful in all aspects of running a business and being a great trainer, you have to immerse yourself in a system that is the equivalent of a university degree. This apprenticeship is more than just riding lessons, it is years of experiencing all aspects of what it take to be America's next top eventing rider.”

      Caroline Powell at Burghley 2012

New Zealand eventer Caroline Powell is also on the hunt for someone to help with all aspects of the competition horses. On her Facebook page she says

“An opportunity has arisen for someone to join our team in Wiltshire to travel and experience the big events. Yard duties shared with existing staff...a team effort....many opportunities for the right person...immediate start...I have a strong hand of advanced horses which will be heading towards WEG 2014 taking in the big internationals enroute. Must be hard working and muck in! 9 to 5ers need not apply!! PM me for details”

Caroline recently relocated from her long time home in the Scottish Borders to Wiltshire where she have plenty of Kiwi company with fellow team members Mark Todd, Andrew Nicholson and Jonelle Richards close by as well as Jesse Campbell and Clarke Johnstone. Caroline is not only a top rider but, having worked as a groom herself for Ian Stark years ago, no doubt knows what a tough job it can be. But wouldn't it be great to look after Lenamore?
