David O'Connor heads FEI Eventing Risk Management Working Group

The FEI, with the support of the FEI Bureau and the FEI Eventing Committee, has created an FEI Eventing Risk Management Working Group to be chaired by David O’Connor (USA) further to the conclusions of the Eventing Independent Audit, in order to develop the ongoing Eventing Risk management Programme. The members of this important Working Group will be announced as soon as confirmed.
 
This Working Group will focus on coordinating Risk Management initiatives around the world including technology developments, data & statistics and education. The Group will initiate information gathering to coordinate Risk management efforts including: 

  • Involving National Safety Officers to present research program being developed in their country;
  • Integrating data analysis specialists to review existing information; and
  • Engaging Course Designers and formalising communication for feedback and circulation of practical knowledge. 

A first telephone conference will take place mid-September to prepare their first in person meeting in October 2016. An initial report will be provided to the Bureau in Tokyo in November 2016 in the context of the FEI General Assembly.
