Hotels with a view to eventing

The George Hotel at Stamford has long been intrinsically linked with the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials

Now two early-season British events have secured sponsorship from leading hotels with the Badminton Horse Trials confirming its first partnership with the historic De Vere Tortworth Court hotel and Thoresby Hall Hotel putting their support behind Thoresby International

De Vere Tortworth Court in Wotton-under-Edge, near Bristol boasts a rich history spanning over 1200 years and was recorded in the Domesday Book. The hotel, which features a stunning Grade II listed Mansion House and a Victorian arboretum, near Bristol, will host the international officials and judges during Badminton Horse Trials from May 4th – 8th 2022.

“We’re delighted to welcome De Vere Tortworth Court to the Badminton ‘family’,” Badminton Director Jane Tuckwell said. “There’s always a great local atmosphere during the Horse Trials and we hope the hotel will enjoy being part of that.”

A little earlier in the season at the Eventing Spring Carnival, Thoresby International there will be no closer place to stay than onsite at the historic Thoresby Hall Hotel, owned by Warner Leisure Hotels.

Putting their support behind the event, Warner Leisure Hotels is the title sponsor of the first day of The Eventing Spring Carnival which will be known as ‘Warner Hotels Friday.’

Stuart Buntine of organisers BEDE Events said: “We are delighted to be working with Thoresby Hall Hotel to make ‘Warner Hotels Friday’ a fantastic day out for all members of the family.

“Planning for The Eventing Spring Carnival is well underway, and we are looking forward to a brilliant three days with top class eventing and a host of added attractions.

“We are building a strong partnership with the Thoresby Hall Hotel team and developing a great opportunity for owners and guests to stay at the hotel, visit the event and enjoy three days of sport, shopping and delicious food and drink.”

Thoresby Hall Hotel is situated just 50 metres from the cross-country course and main arenas providing the ideal base for a relaxing few days away, watching some of the country’s leading event riders in action from Friday 1st April to Sunday 3rd April 2022 on the Nottinghamshire estate.
