Tina and De Novo News at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2014

Tina Cook’s homebred De Novo News was sadly put to sleep on Tuesday.

Tina is said to be devastated at the death of the 12 year old gelding that was bred by her; she rode his dam Douce De Longvaut round Burghley when the mare was in-foal with him and in 2014 they were part of the British WEG team in Normandy

De Novo News fell sick after travelling home from Strzegom, Poland in June and was moved to Newmarket Equine Hospital in August where there were hopeful signs of recovery but unfortunately complications due to ensuing infection resulting in him being put down on this week

Yogi Breisner, Eventing Performance Manager commented: “We are extremely sad to learn of Tina and owner Jim Chromiak’s loss of De Novo News. ‘Herman’ was a wonderful horse who had so much potential.

"I know he was particularly special to Tina since she bred him and rode his mother at four star level. My thoughts are with all connected to him.”
