Emily King, daughter of Olympian Mary and Gemma Tattersall are two rising stars of the British eventing scene. Both were successful junior riders who are now making the transition to senior ranks, being named as part of the British Nations Cup squad this year.

Recently they have put out pleas on social media for owners or people interested in syndicating their top horses so they can hold on to the ride. Emily’s horse, Brookleigh is well-known here in Australia as a past ride of Clayton Fredericks and is named after the beautiful property near Perth, Australia, Brookleigh Estate, of his current owner, Nikki Harwood (Brooks). Nikki is also the owner of Sonja Johnson’s 4* horse Parkiarrup Illicit Liaison and Brookleigh Estate has been the venue for many eventing competitions in Western Australia each year.

Since taking on the ride Emily has had great success on the 11 year old black gelding including third in the Advanced at the Festival of British Eventing and becoming the 2013 National Under 21 Champion.

“It has been an incredible opportunity and he has given me a huge amount of amazing experience” says Emily in her campaign to keep the horse

“I am desperately looking for an owner or to form a syndicate to keep Brook, as he is the horse of a lifetime”

Gemma Tattersall has also mounted a campaign to keep her horse Arctic Soul, currently owned by Philip and Iona Kerr. Arctic Soul, a 10 year old bay gelding by Luso and Gemma have also done well this year, representing Britain at the WEG Test Event and finishing fourth in the CCI 3* at Blenheim

Gemma and Arctic Soul finished ninth at the WEG Test Event in Normandy
