Eventing Course Designer Academy

The Eventing Course Designer Academy is a new concept being launched at the Stragona Equestrian Centre, Poland in 2024, venue of the Strzegom Horse Trials.

“It is the first project of its kind in the world aimed at helping the development of cross country course designers” says FEI Level 4 Eventing Course Designer, Marcin Konarski “For many years, we have observed a continuous need for an increased level of education as well as opportunities to obtain experience and qualification in order to develop XC Course Designers around the world. Realising this need, I decided to launch the Eventing Course Designer Academy.”

The Eventing Course Designer Academy will be run in conjunction with the many Strzegom Horse Trials eventing competitions to be held at the Stragona Equestrian Centre in 2024, giving participants (2 per course) the opportunity to work on an actual competition track, learn about building mobile fences, their decoration and track placement at a level to suit their current abilities.

Participants will work alongside Marcin Konarski ant the Stragona base in Poland. A past eventer who competed at Championship level as a Junior, Youth and Senior rider, Marcin became a course designer in 2002 and since then has built over 50 4* level cross-country courses. As an FEI Technical Delegate, he has officiated at Aachen, Badminton Horse Trials, the 2022 FEI Eventing World Championships at Pratoni Del Vivaro and will be the Eventing Technical Delegate at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Alongside Marcin, participants of the Academy will also have access to one mentoring day with a high-level Eventing Officials such Mark Philips, Ruediger Schwarz, Giuseppe Della Chiesa, Mike Etherington Smith, Eric Winter and Pierre Le Goupil.
