Seamus Marwood stands down as Chair of Eventing Selectors

Seamus Marwood and Wild Oats at this year's
Australian 3DE

Seamus Marwood has resigned from his position as Chair of Selectors for Eventing. Marwood has been a selector since 2004 and has been a dedicated and valued and member of the High Performance Program.

His resignation comes as a result of his own riding aspirations. Marwood and his talented mare Wild Oats are currently competing at the CCI4* level and have been named on the National Futures Squad.

To avoid a conflict of interest Marwood has offered his resignation - which has been accepted by Equestrian Australia.

“I would dearly love to remain a part of this program however I see standing down from competition as my only other option to avoid the potential for this perceived conflict.  I am very fortunate to have developed a horse of the quality of Wild Oats and to pass up the opportunities this horse presents me is too much for me to sacrifice at this late stage of my competition career.”

EA thanks Seamus for his contribution and wished him every success with Wild Oats.

EA now seeks nominations for the role of a National Selector for Eventing.   Applications are open until 19 December
