Sweden

Sweden has announced its team for Pratoni 2022 with Head Coach of Swedish Eventing Fredrik Bergendorff selecting four riders for the team and one individual rider.

The team will be the same that recently rode the FEI Eventing Nations Cup in French Haras du Pin:

  • Malin Josefsson riding Golden Midnight
  • Aminda Ingulfson riding Joystick
  •  Frida Andersén riding Box Leo
  • Sofia Sjöborg riding Bryjamolga vh Marienshof Z
  •

“These are four young riders with a future ahead of them” says Fredrik Bergendorff

All the riders in the team are debuting at World Championship level with the experienced Niklas Lindbäck as an individual rider.

“Niklas has extensive experience in championships and can contribute with advice and support” says Fredrik “In addition, he can join the team at short notice if it becomes relevant and know exactly what he needs to do”

“We rode the Nations Cup there last spring, but the course will certainly be very different now” believes Fredrik, who believes that it is still good to have been at the competition venue.

“What we know is that it is hilly and requires horses with good fitness and that the surface is very good, with old volcanic soil that gives failure even if it is dry. If it rains, it runs off quickly.

Everything is also close within the area, such as stables and riding tracks”

The goal of riding championships is always medals, but Fredrik Bergendorff believes that you have to look at which riders you have in the team and what is realistic.

“If all teams do their best, it is difficult to win a medal. If we get the chance, we'll take it of course, but otherwise the goal is to maintain our level and see how far it goes”
