Defending champions Katie Magee and Treworra headline the British Open Championship entry list for the 2026 NAF Five Star Hartpury International Celebration of Eventing at Hartpury University and Hartpury College this week (11–16 August).
This year the British Open Championship sees some changes, with the class being run as part of the NAF CCI4*-S and, despite the event running the same week as the FEI Eventing World Championships Aachen, the entry list is impressive and big, with 143 entries including two past World Champions, Zara Tindall and Yasmin Ingham with multiple horses.
New Zealand also has multiple entries with Jesse Campbell, Hollie Field, Tayla Mason, Vicky Browne-Cole, Caroline Powell, Ginny Thomasen, James Avery and Joe Meyer over from the USA while Kevin McNab and Australian-based Sam Jeffree will be returning from the Australian team training camp in Belgium to compete here.
Several of the British long-listed combinations for the World Championships are also ready to run, with Sarah Bullimore riding Corimiro, David Doel on Galileo Nieuwmoed (who took 3rd place last year) and Tom Jackson with United 36 ones to watch along with Piggy March on MCS Maverick and Emily King on Valmy Biats.
The NAF CCI2*-L and NAF CCI3*-L will run alongside the short format 4* and three more British Championships will be contested in the Hartpury College & University British Intermediate Championship, the Fairfax Saddles British Novice Championship and the Fairfax Saddles British Restricted Novice Championship.
Dressage for the CCI4* takes place on Thursday and Friday with showjumping on Saturday morning and cross country on Saturday afternoon, when the new British Open Champion will be crowned.
