Land Rover Blair Castle International cancelled

More to come soon from Alec, who is also Competition Manager for Equestrian at Tokyo 2020, in a feature interview discussing the postponement of Tokyo 2020 and managing the resumption of eventing in England

We talk to Alec Lochore, Event Director of Land Rover Blair Castle International about the cancellation and why Blair is such an important event for spotting the cream of eventing horses

The Land Rover Blair Castle International Horse Trials, due to take place from 27th - 30th August, has joined the list of major international events cancelled in 2020 due to Covid-19

"It is with a heavy heart we announce the cancellation of the Land Rover Blair Castle International Horse Trials 2020," said Sarah Troughton, Head Trustee, Atholl Estates.

"It was an unavoidable decision, taken with the safety of the local community, all the riders, and the many helpers and volunteers uppermost in our minds. The 2021 event will be all the more special, and we look forward to seeing you then."

“We’re just at the stage now where we would have to start ramping everything up” explains Alec Lochore “There is a lot to wind up and equally therefore there would be a lot to wind-down, so the Trustees had to make the difficult decision”

“But we will be back, this is just a blip we’re all suffering, and it will be bigger and better next year”

The Land Rover Blair Castle International Horse Trial will be back between 26th - 29th August 2021, so put the dates in your diary now to return to the wonderful Highlands of Scotland.
