Bramham Horse Trials to host BE80 Championship

Cross country is king at Bramham with the courses produced by Ian Stark (designer) and David Evans (builder) always highly praised by the riders. Plans for the new 80cm course are well underway and will reflect the standards of the 4* fences with the route taking in the features of the park.

Bramham International Horse Trials is set to host the British Eventing BE80 Championship from 2022 for three years.

Already one of the country’s most diverse equestrian fixtures, the addition of this new grass roots showcase at Bramham gives leading talented amateurs the chance to compete alongside the world’s elite in glorious Yorkshire parkland.

After a two-year COVID enforced break, the event will now take place from 7th – 12th June 2022 with the BE80 Championships running dressage on Tuesday and Wednesday (7/8 June) and then Show Jumping and Cross Country on Thursday (9 June). The traditional eventing sections, the CCI4*-L, Under 25 CCI4*-L and CCI4*-S will run as previous years over Thursday to Sunday (9 – 12 June).

Alongside the boosted eventing action, there will still be the much-adored array of all things equestrian sport with top-flight Show Jumping, showing, breeding and youngstock classes, Arena Eventing and the prestigious Burghley Young Event Horse qualifier and of course the crowd favourite Pony Club mounted games and team show jumping across the timetable.

As well as a warm Yorkshire welcome from the Lane Fox family, Bramham is renowned for its extensive shopping village and amazing selection of eateries and refreshments and the team is working to ensure that the experience in 2022 is better than ever with improvements in layout, facilities and variety.  Further plans and details will be released in the New Year.

The British Eventing BE80 Championship is something every rider aspires to, and the 2022 edition should give competitors a taste of the big time. The competition will have a dedicated area in Bramham Park for the action but will still be an integral part of the event.

Event Director Nicholas Pritchard commented, “Bramham promises one of the best days out of the year and we’ll be striving to be back better than ever in 2022. We’re honoured to be asked by British Eventing to host the BE80 and will certainly work hard to give the competitors a world-class experience alongside our established classes.

It also adds a great dimension for our loyal audience who come to Bramham year on year as it’s an inspirational competition and highlights the diverse range of competitors in eventing – aspirational for anyone who wants to take up the sport. There’s so much planning going on at present in our office and we can’t wait to share more in the New Year. Make sure you get the dates in your diary, 7 – 12 June 2022!”

The Bramham Box Office will be opening early next year to secure your tickets, membership passes, camping packages and parking but in the meantime, you’ll be able to purchase new gift certificates which can be redeemed against tickets when they go on sale.
