Happy birthday to Zara Tindall, who was born on 15th May 1981
To celebrate, the Defender Burghley Horse Trials has found some great footage from the archives of Zara (née Phillips), aged 22, riding Toytown at Burghley in 2003 when they finished second on their debut at Burghley.
A year earlier in 2002, Zara had won Individual silver in the Young Rider Championships on board Toytown and went on become the Individual European Champion, again on Toytown, at Blenheim Horse Trials in 2005, helping Britain to also take team gold. In 2016 they also won Individual gold and team silver at the World Equestrian Games in Aachen
Box Office & Ticketing Options for Burghley 2023

This year’s Defender Burghley Horse Trials will take place from 31st August – 3rd September and, for the first time, the majority of tickets will be issued as e-tickets, rather than in printed form. The box office is also being brought in-house, so all sales and queries will be handled in person by Burghley Horse Trials’ office staff. E-ticket holders may enter the event via special car channels, to minimise queuing behind those buying on-the-day tickets.
“We are always seeking to improve, and the move to e-ticketing for 2023 is a positive one. It chimes with our aims towards sustainability and waste reduction, and should help traffic flow when entering Burghley.
We are expecting an exceptionally high-quality field of horses and riders from all over the world to compete for what will be the richest first prize in eventing of £110,000, and we cannot wait to showcase our superb blend of top-class sport and outstanding shopping and entertainment” says Event Director Martyn Johnson
