The very first FEI Eventing World Championship was held at Burghley in 1966 and “We want to bring the Worlds back to Britain” says Martyn who will present their case to the FEI and stakeholders in two weeks’ time in Lausanne, Switzerland

Three countries are shortlisted for the FEI Eventing World Championships with Aachen (GER) bidding for the complete World Equestrian Games and Boekelo (NED), like Burghley, has bid for the Eventing World Championship as an individual discipline

The FEI will announce the allocations for the FEI World Championships 2026 at its Board Meeting on 18 November 2023 in Mexico City.
