The British Equestrian Federation (BEF) and British Eventing have confirmed Christopher Bartle as the Performance Coach for the British World Class eventing Programme.

The appointment for the newly created role introduces a new coaching programme to the eventing squad which sees Christopher taking up the role as Performance Coach from January 2017. This will be a key component of a wider plan to continue to optimise performance for the upcoming Olympic cycle.

For the past 16 years Christopher, who is based at the Yorkshire Riding Centre, has been the National Coach to the German Olympic Three Day Event Team, winners of Team Silver and Individual Gold at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Team, Individual Gold medals at the London Olympics in 2012 and at the Beijing Olympics in 2008

British Eventing Chief Executive David Holmes says: “We are incredibly lucky to have found such a strong and inspirational Performance Coach to take the British eventing squad forward. As you can appreciate the process of making senior appointments involves detailed and confidential discussions and is why we have been unable to make any announcement until this time, but are delighted to announce this news today and look forward to working with Christopher as we head towards Tokyo 2020.”
